Director, IBD Data strategy

About the role:

The Director IBD Data Strategy and Reporting is responsible to manage and enhance the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Data and Reporting environments to support the evolving needs of the IBD Analytics, Insights, Sales, and Marketing teams. This includes staying current on trends and new developments in data analytics and creating a roadmap for new data sources and related capabilities. The Data environment is a critical enabler to reduce cycle times for analytical projects, empower advanced targeting methodologies and provide consolidated reporting. Additional responsibilities include driving improvements in the organization, processes, storage and use of systems and data and implementing data quality initiatives (Roadmap). This role acts as a motivational leader who drives results in a team setting. This leader understands key business questions the IBD BI team solves, including how to query and explore the data.

How you will contribute:

  • Manage the design, development, deployment and maintenance of IBD Data Lake to support analytical, reporting and marketing requirements. This includes partnering effectively across the BI&A team with Commercial Operations & Business Solutions (COBS) and Data, Digital & Technology (DD&T) to triage issues and identify areas to expand our technical capacity with an enterprise lens.

  • Ensure all processing in Data Warehouses and GIBU Data Environment (EDB) is being performed as expected with coordination with COBS and DD&T.

  • Manage any changes in DD&T or GIBU Data Environment including prioritization, requirements gathering and implementation.

  • Establish and maintain quality control (QC) framework for ensuring the quality, timeliness and completeness of the data.

  • Maintain stakeholder engagement and relationships across GIBU functions including analytics and multichannel marketing to proactively support business objectives.

  • Lead key initiatives to maintain the data environment with current business definitions and data to support reporting and analytics.

  • Work with Commercial Analytics and Insights teams to ensure managed reports are consistent with requirements of brand and other internal customers.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for sales leaders and sales force effectiveness

  • Partner with COBS and DD&T to ensure any changes to the Data Warehouse environments are consistent with business need. This includes the review and approval of any data model changes.

  • Partner with DD&T to ensure that technologies to support the Data Environment or Reporting platform are supported and maintained to ensure availability for end users.

  • Work with GI BI&A senior leaders to identify internal and external resource requirements and negotiate resources to meet brand team market access needs.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required from an accredited college/university, preferably in Engineering, STEM or MIS field. Master's degree is preferred

  • 8+ years of experience in IT/Operations, including data architecture, governance, Data Quality, Enterprise Data Warehouse and Analytics, preferable in Pharma

  • Proven track record of data systems quality projects and initiatives within the pharmaceutical industry

  • Experience in an analytical role with demonstrated ability to influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders in driving collaborative decision making.

  • Strong leadership, business acumen and ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, timelines and expectations of multiple cross functional stakeholder groups.

  • Relevant experience in leading cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated problem solving ability.

  • Proven track record of leading and delivering programs with complex business deliverables.

  • Prior leadership and managerial roles in pharmaceutical industry.

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$169,400.00 - $266,200.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
