About the role:

Under the direction of the Manager for Reliability Engineering, you will contribute to the reliability and development of manufacturing and support equipment. You will be a lead for Reliability Engineering between operations, maintenance, manufacturing, automation, quality assurance, validation, and utilities engineering. Come join us and be part of our manufacturing site in Social Circle, GA.

How you will contribute:

  • Develop the maintenance strategy, plans, SOPs, parts lists, BOMs and frequencies for new and modified equipment.

  • Work with safety, quality, and manufacturing performing equipment importance level assessments. You will also perform the review, improvement and update of Maintenance SOPs, Parts Lists, BOMs and CMMS data integrity for existing equipment.

  • Perform CMMS data analysis to identify trends and area focus for improvements and perform functional equivalency assessment of spare parts.

  • Work with engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance personnel to perform or support troubleshooting of equipment.

  • Lead and Facilitates RCFA and FMEA. Also lead Reliability Centered Maintenance improvement projects in assigned areas and be the subject matter expert during audits.

  • Lead the implementation of predictive maintenance technologies to increase equipment uptime; also lead cost/waste/energy reduction opportunities.

  • Participate in technical reviews of equipment design projects. You may also participate in FAT and commissioning of new or modified equipment.

  • May be assigned change control, Quality/Safety CAPA tasks as action owner.

  • Report project and operational metrics to upper management.

Complexity and Problem Solving

  • Discuss normally encountered technical or project management issues, both verbally and in written form.

What You Bring to Takeda:

  • Bachelors' degree in an Engineering discipline required.

  • 3+ years of experience.

Key Skills, Abilities, and Competencies

  • Familiarity with GMP and be experienced using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and MS Project.

  • Have knowledge of the core engineering principles: heat transfer, mass transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.

  • Familiarity with Biotechnology manufacturing operations such as Cell Culture, purification, aseptic filling, packaging, and support systems such as CIP, SIP, HVAC, plant, and clean utilities.

Other Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 25 lbs.

  • In general, your work will be a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.

  • Will work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Will follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet, and body.

  • No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the manufacturing environment.

  • Will work in a cold, wet environment and may be asked to work in a confined area.

  • Flexibility to work multiple shifts, including weekends.

  • Can work overtime (only for non-exempt positions).

Important Considerations

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. You may:

  • May wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments daily. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, aprons, face shields, lab coats, full body gowns, hair nets and gloves and hearing protection.

  • Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

  • Work in a cold, wet environment.

  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours.

  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

For Location:

USA - GA - Social Circle - Hwy 278

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$84,000.00 - $132,000.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
