About the role:

Global Public Affairs (GPA) is a critical pillar of Global Corporate Affairs (GCA) with responsibility for engaging global policy stakeholders to advance patient-centered policy solutions to accelerate global, equitable access to Takeda’s innovative life-transforming medicines and vaccines. The Multilateral Affairs team in GPA is responsible for the development and execution of Takeda’s multilateral engagement strategy, optimization of international trade association engagement, and facilitation of engagement with our local operating company (LOC) on key global policy topics.

How you will contribute:

· Lead the development and implementation of an advocacy strategy with Geneva-based stakeholders to support our multilateral engagement strategy.

  • Drive Geneva policy advocacy to advance enterprise objectives; coordinate Takeda's engagement with Geneva-based stakeholders.

  • Engage in strategic partnerships to accelerate progress on policy goals and stakeholder engagement.

  • Raise awareness of Takeda’s Global CSR and other global health initiatives with Geneva-based stakeholders.

· Lead engagement with the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA) on global health topics; support the Takeda IFPMA Council Member.

· Contribute to the global Takeda public affairs community by sharing best practices and facilitating capability-building initiatives in growth and emerging markets

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree

  • Accomplished policy advocacy professional with at least 10 years of experience in public affairs (government affairs and/or policy).

  • Deep understanding of Geneva global health political and policy dynamics, with experience working with Geneva-based global health institutions.

  • Experience working in or with the pharmaceutical sector, medical devices, and/or other health sectors on international policy issues.

  • Understanding of the role key governments (e.g., US, EU, Japan) play in influencing the operating environment of the innovative pharmaceutical sector.

  • Superior interpersonal and leadership skills in relevant business environments.

  • Willing and able to work in a dynamic environment and possess an innovative spirit.

  • Effective in collaborating with people at all levels of an organization and willing to contribute wherever needed, providing support to operational activities as well as staffing senior executives.

  • Strong indirect people management skills and experience.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with a strong ability to develop new, innovative ways to influence people in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

  • Fluency in English.
